Albert syntyi Lohjansaaren Hermalan kylän Kieklan talossa vuonna 1891. Hänen esivanhempansa ovat tässä taulustossa;
Tässä sitten tuo Kenin viesti, jonka julkaisen hänen luvallaan;
From his passport, Albert left Finland from Hango on 6 April 1910 with a “5 year travel permit”.
Albert married my great grandmother Julia Conrad on February 18, 1929 in Kaleva, Michigan, a rural Finnish settlement (the largest (by land area, not number) Finnish-settled-contiguous land area occupied by Finns outside of Finland). (Julianna Draeger was her maiden name, born in a German-speaking village in Kroczyn-Kamien in Congress Poland (Russian Poland), spelled Krochen- Kammin, in German). In Michigan documents Albert’s surname was spelled Neuman rather than Nyman in most cases.
Albert died in Cadillac, Michigan (near Kaleva) – I do not have the date of death with me at the moment but I can provide that if you are interested.
According to the copy of Albert’s church confirmation certificate of 1910 (Porvoon Hippakunta) that my mother had in her possession, Albert Maurits Nyman is identified as being from Hermalan Kieklasta, born on 22/9, 1891 in Lohjalla and “of good reputation” – I can scan/copy this document and send it to you for your records.
If there is any other type of information you are looking for, please do let me know.
From this website http://www.lohjansaaristo.fi/muut_palv_reitit/reitit/hermala.pdf we found a description of the Kiekla farm (on page 3) which refers to Albert’s father Nils Nyman.
Linkistä avautuu kertomus Hermalan "paheellisesta" kylästä.
